Spot on! A durable peace requires an honest diagnosis. Russia’s war against Ukraine did not begin with NATO. It is the product of imperial ambition, rejection of Ukrainian sovereignty, divergent societal trajectories, and a demonstrated disregard for binding agreements. Ignoring these realities risks repeating the mistakes that made the war possible.
In short all these Russian reasons for invading Ukraine are much in line with Trump’s thinking. Furthermore you are right Russia is losing. But we need to help them win this year 2026 fast and decisively.
I think the biggest threats to a Ukrainian victory is two thing;
1) Europe cannot accept that the Trump regime is an adversary, and that strong and clear resistance is the only thing that will help in the face of the bully.
Europe must strengthen its unity, speak tough to Trump, and take back the initiative in the dialogue with Russia.
2) The second - and most serious - threat is combined with the first. That support is not increased, and that things take too long. The years pass.
Agree 100% Benjamin. Zelenskyy was saying exactly that in his speech. We Europe must cut lose from US. That’ll make the ultra right smaller too. We can beat Russia if we intensify our support, stop export of missile components and close the sky and work towards federal Europe and one army.
I was just referring to the colonial, imperial reasons of Russia while tankies - know many of them - refer to NATO expansion.

Then AfD, Le Pen and UK Reform come to power.
